The Reverend Theodora Brooks
A native of Liberia, Mother Brooks---an Episcopal priest---has served St. Margaret's Church in the South Bronx since 1993. Her church is located in the poorest Congressional district in the United States and Brooks leads a congregation that actively supports all people, not only with worship services but with twice-weekly meal programs and after-school tutoring. Mother Brooks has been active on national Committee for Anglican and International Peace with Justice Concerns. She is a graduate of Cuttington College in Liberia, Virginia Theological Seminary, and The General Theological Seminary.
