Program Objectives

Strengthening Global Partnerships

Through the Global Partners program, the Trinity Grants Program seeks to strengthen ties within the Anglican Communion through mission-based partnerships.   Our hope is that sharing our mission work together will build deeper partnerships and stronger ministries that inspire other Anglican and Episcopal faith communities to care for and empower each other.

Program Emphasis

ELIGIBLE PARTNERSHIPS

Episcopal Church (TEC) -'Global South' and 'South – South' partnerships, whether between seminaries, dioceses, Mothers Union (MU)/Episcopal Church Women (ECW) groups, provinces, or between a U.S. parish and a ‘Global South’ diocese.  A covenanted companion relationship is not required.

In this context, the term 'Global South' refers to developing countries in Africa, Asia/Oceania, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

MUTUAL LEARNING & SHARED MISSION

Successful programs will bring together two or more Episcopal/Anglican partners for shared learning and work.  Each partner should clearly identify the ways in which they will participate in the project and how the experience will enhance to their ministry.  Special consideration will be given to projects that bring together common ministries; such as HIV/AIDS ministries, literacy ministries, or gender ministries; to learn from each other.  Possible areas of partnership include but are not limited to lay leadership development, income-generation, development, hunger/poverty, primary education, gender equality, or environmental sustainability.

FUNDING CAPACITY & APPLICATION DEADLINES

Awards are generally up to $35,000.  Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but proposals submitted less than eight weeks before a board meeting may be held for the following meeting.  The Grants Board considers proposals in February, May, and November.

FUNDING LIMITATIONS

In addition to the Grants Program-wide limitations, the Trinity Grants Board will not support Global Partners requests for the following:

  • Support for programs that do not have the active involvement and participation of at least two Anglican/Episcopal church jurisdictions.
  • Expenses associated with trips from the U.S. to the Global South, except economy-class round-trip airfare.  U.S. to the Global South economy-class round trip airfare and all 'South to South' or 'South to U.S.' trip expenses are eligible.
  • Staffing costs for U.S.-based personnel.
