Public schools are in desperate need of support. Test scores and graduation rates continue to remain low in many New York communities. In 2007 the Diocese of New York passed a resolution for Episcopal parishes to make a long-term commitment to help public schools. All Our Children is a new initiative supported by the Diocese and Trinity Wall Street that offers parishes the opportunity to make a five-year commitment to better education. All Our Children is designed specifically as a civic outreach initiative rather than a religious program.

St. John’s Monticello
St. John’s in partnership with Rural Migrant Ministry works to strengthen their youth’s participation in the school policy process through the Leadership Institute. The youth’s work through the Institute is to develop a campaign around food in the school cafeterias.
Partnering with a local public school provides a unique opportunity to match a parish’s interests and gifts with the needs of school children within the same community.
