The composers featured in this program put their hearts into these emotional works – solemn explorations of humanity’s response to loss, death, and remembrance. Renaissance, Baroque,and contemporary compositions include: Schütz’s Musikalische Exequien; the Requiem Masses of Richafort and Howells; and Josquin des Prez’s Déploration sur la mort de Johannes Ockeghem.
