Presentation by Kathryn Tanner: "Is Capitalism a Belief System?" Panel Discussion and q&a follows.
Kathryn Tanner’s most recent book, Economy of Grace, explores the intersections between theology and economics. She practices constructive Christian theology in the Protestant tradition. Her intent is to address contemporary challenges to belief through the creative use of both the history of Christian thought and interdisciplinary methods, such as critical, social, and feminist theory. Tanner is Dorothy Grant Maclear Professor of Theology at the University of Chicago Divinity School.
Does Theology Have a Role In Shaping a New Economy? The 2010 Trinity Institute National Theological Conference brings together leading theologians and economists to talk about the relationship between economics and Christian belief and action.
