Matthew Spady, creator and webmaster of AudubonParkNY.com, will lead a walking tour of the cemetery, which has been part of Manhattan since 1842. The tour will begin at John James Audubon’s monument behind the Church of the Intercession at Broadway and 155th Street, and will last approximately one hour, followed by a question and answer session in the chapel of Trinity Cemetery. Comfortable shoes are suggested as parts of the tour include steps, hills, and occasional uneven walkways.
Following the tour, a live jazz concert will take place at the cemetery at 2pm. The Dan Aran Trio will perform a concert of jazz music at the Trinity Church Cemetery and Mausoleum, located at 770 Riverside Drive, between 153rd and 155th Street in Manhattan. The concert is part of Trinity’s Concerts-To-Go series and is free and open to the public.
