For one day only, instead of packing lunches for the Brown Bag Lunch Ministry, volunteers are asked to help pack backpacks with school supplies in preparation for the September 5 Blessing of the Backpacks. Supplies were collected over the summer for low-income and homeless students in Manhattan and Brooklyn, as well as the children of incarcerated parents. Sponsored through the BackPACKS (People Acting in Community for Kid Success) initiative in support of All Our Children and the Collections Ministry.
