David Sisco is a multi-faceted professional artist whose life work centers around exploring music, drama, writing and teaching. He is a prolific art song composer, and received a stipend from the National Endowment for the Advancement of Arts to present a recital of his music at the prestigious Liederkranz Club in New York. A finalist of the 2008 National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Composition Competition, his song cycles and choral works are available for purchase on www.siscosong.com.
A member of the Dramatist’s Guild and the esteemed BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop (Advanced), Mr. Sisco is also a passionate writer for the stage. He is the author of Here I Am: A Musical Personal Ad, as well as Variations on a Theme of You, Sopranos, and a one-act opera called The Catbird Seat. He is currently collaborating with book writer/lyricist Tom Gualtieri. Their forthcoming musical, Falling to Earth, received a one-month developmental workshop at Syracuse University in January 2009. Mr. Sisco is a frequent soloist and member of the professional sanctuary choir at Marble Collegiate Church, and has recorded two albums with the premier ensemble. He has served on the faculties at Northeastern and Suffolk University, teaching voice and musical theater performance. He is currently an adjunct voice professor at Marymount Manhattan College, Theater Department. He received his BA in vocal performance and composition honors from Syracuse University, and a MM in vocal performance from Boston University School for the Arts.
