Come away for a period of deep and prayerful preparation in the first weekend of Lent. Gain a deeper experience of the season through silence, contemplation, prayer, and meditation. Learn disciplines of spiritual practice that will carry you through this season and your life. Led by the Rev. David Keller, an Episcopal priest, author, and retreat leader who teaches lay persons and clergy methods of connecting heart, head, and hands. “David Keller's approach is gentle and pastoral, always firmly anchored in the traditional Christian affirmation of prayer as a loving and ever-deepening relationship with a personal God. This retreat will help participants focus on three disciplines to "listen" to the inside of life:

An Experience of Contemplative Prayer: the prayer of stillness and silence.

Praying with Scripture: a method for hearing the mystery of God's voice in scripture.

Praying with Body and Soul: several forms of prayer from our Christian tradition including contemplative walking, the Lord's Prayer, and practices from the early Desert Mothers and Fathers.

The Rev. Keller is co-steward, with his wife Emily Wilmer, of Oasis of Wisdom: An Institute for Contemplative Studies, Practice, and Living. He is Adjunct Professor of Ascetical Theology at the General Theological Seminary in New York and Director of the Contemplative Ministry Project which he founded in 2006 with Fr. Thomas Keating, OCSO. He is the author of Oasis of Wisdom: The Worlds of the Desert Fathers and Mothers (Liturgical Press 2005) and Come and See: The Transformation of Personal Prayer (Morehouse Publishing 2009). Rev. Keller has led retreats in the USA, Canada, and the UK.
