Membership in the Episcopal Church begins with Baptism, the sacrament of inclusion into the worldwide Christian community. Adults and mature teenagers may choose to affirm their Baptism, or what was promised for them in infant Baptism, in the rite of Confirmation. Trinity Church offers one curriculum for adults and another for youth, each with powerful reflection on the Christian life of faith in light of one's life and life's challenges, Scripture study, prayer, spiritual disciplines, and moral decision-making.

We welcome those who wish to be married at Trinity Church or St. Paul's Chapel. We require 4 month's notice prior to a wedding, and at least one of the parties must be a baptized Christian. Premarital counseling is required by the canons of the Episcopal Church. In the case of a divorced person who wishes to remarry, permission from the Bishop is required. Under no circumstances should any announcement of a wedding at Trinity Church or St. Paul's Chapel be made until the couple has had an interview with the priest, the priest consents to officiate and our Statement of Understanding is signed and a deposit has been made.

Christian burial is a service of blessing for the deceased and of thanksgiving to God for that person's life. As Christians, we believe that death marks not the end of life, but a new beginning as we move from earthly life to a greater Life with God. A Christian is properly buried or cremated from the Church; it is desirable that the service include a requiem Eucharist. The Pastoral Office has resource material to assist in the creation of a will (including a Living Will), and information regarding burial arrangements at Trinity Church Cemetery at 155th Street and Riverside Drive. The Cemetery Office and clergy staff are both available for consultation and pastoral care in times of need.
