Mission and ministry at Trinity Wall Street is organized into the categories of liturgy, arts, and community, faith formation, and faith in action. As the vicar at Trinity, I oversee the long-term programming and day-to-day decision-making connected to these areas. With deep roots in the city, and a wide-ranging program of ministry, Trinity occupies an important position in many people’s lives. People may know Trinity through church services, Choir concerts, or the elderly housing facilities at St. Margaret’s House. Others may be part of the more than 100 community organizations that use our administrative building to convene meetings. For many more, Trinity is a place to serve others, or to be served by people who care, whether this happens locally or with partners in New Orleans, Panama, or various churches in Africa. My job is to be aware of the many ways people interact with Trinity and to work with the parish staff to enhance these points of outreach, in the service of God, and for a world of good.
More often than not, the information people seek from me has to do with being involved in parish life in some way or another. People often ask for information about congregational life, Trinity’s strategic direction, mission trips, and potential community partnerships.
I respond to a wide range of questions every day. Here are a few recent examples.
