INVITATION AND OFFICIAL RULES FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR

TRINITY CHURCH MUSEUM
INTERNATIONAL DOUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION

You must have Internet access and a valid personal e-mail address to participate.
Submissions will be accepted between August 15, 2009, and midnight of October 15, 2009 (Eastern Standard Time).

1. ELIGIBILITY: Submissions are invited from professional and serious amateur photographers of any nation, state, territory, or other area in the world.

The submissions may be in black-and-white or color, created by traditional or digital methods.

All entrants are deemed to agree to these Official Rules and to the decisions of Trinity Church on all matters relating to the submission and the exhibition, which are final and binding in all respects.

2. HOW TO ENTER: Person may submit up to five (5) photographs.In order for a photograph taken by you to be considered for inclusion in the exhibition, follow the steps outlined below to make a submission:

STEP 1:
Go to trinitywallstreet.org and find the link for Picturing an Ethical Economy submissions.

STEP 2:
Fill out information about the entrant and the submission(s).

STEP 3:
Upload a scan of your photograph(s) in JPEG only format.

STEP 4:
Click to acknowledge that you have read the Official Rules and Questionnaire and Binding License Agreement

STEP 5:
If chosen, you will be asked to submit a completed questionnaire and binding license agreement, along with a print version of the photograph(s) no later than December 6, 2009, to Trinity Church Museum Exhibitions, 74 Trinity Place, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10006-2088.

Trinity Church will contact you if it requires further background information or confirmation of submitted information.

3. SELECTION PROCESS: Submissions will be accepted from August 15, 2009, until midnight of October 15, 2009 (Eastern Standard Time).

After the close of the submission period, judges will select from the submissions photographs that are believed collectively to illustrate the themes of the exhibition.

When the selections have been made, Trinity Church will notify the creators of the selected photographs by email. Trinity Church will then conduct a more detailed review of appearance releases or other requirements for the uses of the photographs that are granted to Trinity Church in the license agreement. Trinity Church may decline to include a photograph in the exhibition in the event that these requirements are not satisfied, in Trinity Church's sole judgment.

4. RELEASES AND INDEMNITY: Trinity Church is not responsible for transmission errors or failures, hardware or software malfunctions, or other errors or failures relating to its website, the processing of submissions or any communications with entrants or for any event, condition or reason that may cause the exhibition to be postponed, canceled or modified.

Each Entrant releases, discharges, holds harmless, and covenants not to sue Trinity Church concerning any claims or liabilities arising from or relating to any and all matters of whatsoever kind relating to this invitation for submissions, the exhibition and entrant’s participation.

5. DISPUTES: All issues and questions concerning the validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or your rights and obligations as an entrant, or any other matter in connection with the exhibition, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New York and of the United States, without giving effect to conflict-of-law rules. Any claim or dispute between you and Trinity Church that relates in whole or in part to the exhibition or this invitation for submissions shall be decided exclusively by a court of competent jurisdiction located in New York, NY, USA, and you submit to those courts for that purpose.

Trinity Church is only permitting participation in the invitation for submissions on condition that all entrants accept to be governed by the above laws. If the law where you reside does not permit you to participate in this event, you take full responsibility to refrain from violating your local law.
