Infants are unique individuals whose needs vary from moment to moment. Teachers in the preschool's infant program respond sensitively to each child's signals to provide consistent care. We understand that during infancy, as at every other stage of growth, cognitive, social, emotional and physical needs are intertwined.
Early Morning
Music & Dance: Children can play drums, shakers, bells, and dance to the music. Music time also helps language development, as children learn to repeat different sounds.
Mid-Morning
Sensory Activities: The children safely explore using different mediums: Ice-cubes, shaving cream, pudding.
Late Morning
Outdoor Time
Early Afternoon
Fine Motor Activities: These activities encourage hand-eye coordination and grasping: crayon coloring, sorting shapes, stacking cups.
Mid-Afternoon
Gross Motor Activities: We have climbing equipment and see-saws and a wide, safe area to practice climbing, walking, pushing, pulling, and rolling.
Late Afternoon
Circle time and getting ready for home: During Circle Time, teachers read stories and sing songs to encourage language development and the ability to recognize pictures, repeat sounds and words, and to perform simple instructions, such as "clap your hands," or "touch your nose."
