From the Rector
Dear Parish Friends:
God’s work is hard, but easier with partners.
Jesus went into every village, city, and neighborhood — his whole world — and as he did, he had compassion for the people he met. He also said to his disciples, “I need help in my work.” Jesus called his first partners the apostles, and he sent them out two by two. If we are following Jesus’ example, the first step is to welcome people into the Church Community. The second step is to find partners, and set about doing sacred work in the world. Our mission partnerships, joining together in the name of the Church, are the building blocks of the kingdom.
God is calling us to labor on, but we are not sent out alone. The call is for us to build the kingdom together. I hope the stories of partnership in these pages might play some role in guiding and inspiring our work as a Church now and in the future.
Faithfully,
The Rev. Dr. James Herbert Cooper, Rector
