Know a Child Who Loves to Sing?

September 22, 2005

On Sunday, October 16, Trinity Church will host an “open house” event for children ages 7-18 interested in joining the Trinity Choristers, the new youth choir program at Trinity.

If you know a child who loves to sing and wants to learn more about the new program, bring them to the upcoming open house, being held 12:30 pm to 2 pm in the Trinity Choir Room.

The Trinity Choristers program will offer a comprehensive music education in a joyful, caring and cooperative environment. The program aims to “ensure that each child is given every opportunity to flourish and emerge as an excellent musician capable of using the power of music to inspire and enrich their own lives and the lives of others,” explained assistant organist Rob Ridgell, who will be running the new program.

Students will receive professional choral training, free piano lessons, leadership skills, values formation, monthly stipend, choir camp and concert trips.

Children and teenagers ages seven to eighteen from across the New York area are encouraged to apply. No musical experience is necessary, only the ability to match pitch and to produce good choral tone.
