The inaugural members of the Trinity Charter Society were recently honored at Trinity Church and at a reception with a very special guest. The Charter Society's members are those who have made a gift to Trinity in their will or as another type of planned gift. In addition to supporting the parish’s ministry and mission, planned gifts are a unique form of stewardship and leave a lasting impact on the lives of others.
The society was inspired by one of the first and most significant gifts the parish received: a large parcel of land on the west side of Manhattan, given by Britain's Queen Anne in 1705. Revenue from that land has helped to fund Trinity's many programs and mission work over the years.
The Charter Society's 20 members were first honored at a Sunday service at Trinity on October 17. The members were also invited to a reception at the rectory that week, where Queen Anne, herself, made a special appearance at the party with some unique suggestions on why giving to Trinity Church is a good idea.

Queen Anne's Reasons to Give to Trinity Church
1. If you don't, I'm going to start taking Peppercorns as rent again. You know -- the ones that sing.
2. Because you can't expect any new grants from the British Empire – my great, great, great, great, great, great royal grandsons William and Harry only want to play polo and chase girls.
3. Because you can help find and support the next Desmond Tutu.
4. Wall Street needs more God, not less.
5. Because a world of good can really get expensive.
6. Because by giving, you will touch people's lives for generations to come.
7. Why not? I did.
