Trinity TV Receives Film Industry Awards for Economic Crisis Videos

January 12, 2010

What do the Sesame Workshop, CNN, and Trinity Television & New Media have in common? They are all recipients of the prestigious 2009 CINE Golden Eagle, a jury-judged award that recognizes excellence in the film industry.

Trinity received two Golden Eagles for God's Mission in Economic Crisis: Ghana and God's Mission in Economic Crisis: Lakota, short videos that depict the economic challenges facing the people of Ghana and the Lakota people in South Dakota.

The films were produced in collaboration with the Episcopal Church for a special forum on the global economic crisis at the Church's triennial gathering. The forum featured a panel of speakers, including Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, who are trying to alleviate or eradicate poverty locally and globally. Stephen Dzisi and Sarah Eagle Heart, who were also panelists, are the focus of the Ghana and Lakota video profiles.

"The CINE Golden Eagle award recognizes the quality of the cinematic storytelling that went into each of these videos," commented Linda Hanick, V.P. Communications & Marketing. "Trinity's TV & New Media staff William Jarrett, Jim Melchiorre, Michael McGuinnes, and Anthony Indelicato will each receive special recognition for their contributions to the project."

The videos are part of an on-going series, Anglican Communion Stories,, which can be seen on trinitywallstreet.org.
