Staff and Parishioner Accomplishments
We began this week with a wonderful celebration of the life, ministry, and people of Trinity Wall Street on Trinity Sunday. The
webcast can be seen here. In a nice coincidence, the New York Times published that same day a
wonderful review of the Trinity Choir and cellist Matt Haimovitz, led by Julian Wachner. The first paragraph of the review nicely summarizes the new strategies in place around the parish’s professional music program.
I want to take a moment to wish Jackie Yang well. Jackie is a parishioner who is on her way to live and work in New Orleans as Director of the All Souls Community Center in the Lower Ninth Ward. Jackie chose to make a radical change in her life after going on a parish mission and service trip.
Read an interview with her here.
Staff member Anita Chan also deserves recognition this week. Anita recently received a master’s degree completed while working full time as Trinity’s Associate Director of Faith in Action.
Read more about Anita’s job and degree here.
It was good to meet as a whole staff this week. At that meeting, I talked about Trinity’s relationship with those arrested at Duarte Square last winter. This is an evolving matter, and
here is a link to the most current statement. This is a sensitive, emotional topic for many, and there is a lot of misinformation out there.
