Ji Eun Anna Lee, violin, began violin studies at the age of four with Alexander Souptel and debuted as soloist performing the Paganini Violin Concerto #1 a year and a half later with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Lan Shui. At the age of six, she was accepted to the Juilliard School under the tutelage of Masao Kawasaki. Ms. Lee has appeared on the stages of Carnegie Weill, Wigmore, Alice Tully, and Avery Fisher Concert Halls, as well as Morse and Paul Halls, and Peter Jay Sharp Theater. She has been the recipient of numerous awards including the “New Horizon Fellowship,” Jack Kent Young Artist and Young Scholar Awards, and has been featured on “From the Top” and in the Wall Street Journal Magazine. She made her conducting debut with the Peoria Symphony Orchestra in November 2010, and in April 2011 made her New York Philharmonic debut. Ms. Lee has appeared as soloist with the Singapore, Little, Prime Philharmonic, Peoria Symphony, and Park Avenue Chamber Orchestras, and the Massapequa, Long Island, and New York Philharmonics. She is currently a sophomore at the Dalton School. Masterclass appearances include Elmar Oliveira, Ida Kavafian, Joseph Lin, Sylvia Rosenberg, Robert McDuffie, Kyoko Takezawa, Pamela Frank, and Joseph Silverstein. For the 2010-2011 season, she continues her studies with Masao Kawasaki and Cho-Liang Lin at the Juilliard School. Ms. Lee performs on an exceptional violin made by Nicolo Amati, Cremona c. 1635-40 on extended loan through the efforts of The Stradivari Society and Mary Galvin, the patron.
