Music Born of Poetry

Composer Elena Ruehr is a faculty member in the Department of Music and Theater Arts at MIT who spent much of her teenage years writing poems. And much of the inspiration for her highly-praised musical works, performed in May 2011 by the Trinity Choir, comes from the poetry of Emily Dickinson, Langston Hughes, and Louise Gluck. Watch the Trinity Choir sing the music of Elena Ruehr.
