Ash Wednesday (February 18, 2015) marks the beginning of the Christian penitential season of Lent. Along with Good Friday at the climactic end of the Lenten season, Ash Wednesday is one of the two most somber days of the Church’s calendar. Ash Wednesday sermons are always a call to commitment to the long spiritual journey toward Easter. Here are the two preached at Trinity Wall Street: click here for a liturgy with a sermon by the Rt. Rev. Andrew M.L. Dietsche, the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, and click here for a liturgy with a sermon by Trinity’s vicar, the Rev. Phillip Jackson.
