Emily Wachner's New Role at General Theological Seminary

Dear Friends,
I am writing to let you know that the Rev. Emily Wachner has accepted a new position at The General Theological Seminary. Please join me in congratulating Emily and thanking her for all she has done to support and further Trinity's mission. Emily’s last day will be September 11.

At General, Emily will be the Director of Integrative Programs, which includes administrative oversight of student learning in Clinical Pastoral Education, Field Education, and the seminary's innovative "Wisdom Year." She will also assist with classes and will be preaching and leading worship along with other faculty and staff.
Emily's contributions to parish life at Trinity are considerable. In addition to being a creative and dedicated preacher, Emily was a driving force behind the 9:15 family service at St. Paul's, which is flourishing and serving a vital community need. She has envisioned and lead a number of exciting community programs, such as Camp Trinity on Governor's Island (2014), the Girl Walk All Day dance event at St. Paul's (2012), and the always well- attended Community Movie Nights at St Paul's. Most recently, Emily developed the 9/11 storytelling and preaching competition to highlight St. Paul’s as a place of reconciliation.
The Episcopal Church is fortunate that the same passion, intelligence, and drive that Emily brought to her work at Trinity will play an important part in the formation of future leaders of the Church. We will miss Emily. Please join me in wishing her the very best as she begins her new ministry at General.
