Trinity Prison Ministry
At this meeting, Trinity’s Prison Ministry welcomes Larry White, who was released after 32 years in prison and is currently coordinator for Hope Lives for Lifers, a program which serves young offenders in partnership with American Friends Service Committee (the Quakers). Hope Lives for Lifers works to help youth ages 16 and older to make good use of their time while they’re incarcerated.
This meeting will also be a celebration of 30th anniversary of Trinity’s TaskForce against Racism.
Trinity’s Prison Ministry was formed in 2004-2005 to help erase the stigma for formerly incarcerated people returning to society by educating parishioners about how current social structures contribute to crime, how to help those who are incarcerated learn skills or get an education, and how to ease the transition for those returning from incarceration.
