Equipping You to Make a Difference. 

A series of interactive workshops and lectures addressing timely issues in our neighborhood and how you can become involved. 

Topics will include homelessness, racial reconciliation, #MeToo and #TimesUp, re-entry support after incarceration, eviction and LGBTQIA advocacy, among others. Professionals from New York City non-profits addressing these issues will discuss recommendations for volunteerism, individual response, and collective church response.

Legal Help for Immigrants with Ella Nimo, LCMSW, Community Organizing Coordinator, Development & Communications Coordinator, at Cabrini Immigrant Services of NYC.

August 20
Serving the Homeless with Lauren Taylor, Deputy Director of the Manhattan Outreach Consortium, a group of three not-for-profit organizations, Goddard Riverside Homeless Outreach Team, Breaking Ground, and Center for Urban Community Service.

August 27
Helping LGBTQ+ Youth with Simone Richmond, Development & Outreach Manager of the Church of St. Luke in the Fields. St. Luke's "Art and Acceptance" Saturday drop-in Shelter night offers a hospitable, harm-reduction, gender-diverse safe space with dinner, art, writing, dancing, a free pop-up clothing and toiletries shop, health and legal services, and crisis support.
