CANCELED: Handel Project

With a nod to the success of the former early-music Twelfth Night Festival, Trinity is embarking on the new annual 12 Nights Festival, this year featuring 16 free early music concerts in 12 days. Exemplifying Trinity’s reputation for cutting-edge performances of both new and old music, the 12 Nights Festival programming will alternate between the two each year. Programming in 2020 includes Rameau’s opera Dardanus staged by director James Darrah, concerts of Handel’s Deborah, a complete cycle of the Beethoven String Quartets performed by the Attaca Quartet in celebration of his 250th birthday, and more.

The Choir of Trinity Wall Street; Trinity Baroque Orchestra; Julian Wachner, conductor
George Frideric Handel – Deborah Part the Second
Tickets go on sale soon

Trinity continues The Handel Project, a multi-season initiative presenting all of Handel’s oratorios, with one of the composer’s earliest dramatic works: Deborah, a study of women in political and spiritual authority. This installment of The Handel Project will be performed in three parts and will feature an international cast including Marie-Eve Munger (Deborah), Mireille Asselin (Jael), Daniel Moody (Barak), and Jonathan Woody (Abinoam), as well as The Choir of Trinity Wall Street and the Trinity Baroque Orchestra under the direction of Julian Wachner.
