A Litany of Atlanta and Other Stories is a developing work that explores the struggle of Africans in America to achieve the ”American Dream” and how the quest for achievement has been systematically sabotaged by a white power structure and replaced by a false narrative that still prevails today. Conceived by parishioner R. A. Foy, the work is based on a narrative and themes poetically captured by W.E.B Du Bois in A Litany of Atlanta, J. Chester Johnson’s Litany of Offense and Apology for the national Day of Repentance (October 4, 2008, the Episcopal Church’s apology for its participation in the transatlantic slave trade), and the Rev. Dr. Mark Bozzuti-Jones’ thoughts, words, and encouragement. Light refreshments. Information: Toni Foy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
