Rededication Ceremony of the Alexander Hamilton Monument

12:45 pm to 2:00 pm, January 10, 2014
  • Trinity Church

Following the 12:00 pm liturgy service, there will be a special rededication ceremony of the Alexander Hamilton monument in Trinity churchyard. The monument, erected over Hamilton’s grave over 200 years ago, was recently repaired and restored. As part of the rededication, there will be a ceremonial unveiling of the Hamilton grave led by the Honourable Vance Amory, Premier of Nevis (birthplace of Alexander Hamilton), and Doug Hamilton, a direct Hamilton descendant.

The event will then move inside the church for a special talk by Capt. Loebl, Commander of Sector New York of the US Coast Guard, on Alexander Hamilton and the founding of the Coast Guard.

This event is part of a history program called Happy Birthday Hamilton! presented by the Alexander Hamilton Awareness Society (The AHA Society). For information on additional events from the program, visit
