Community and Musical Excellence
Trinity Wall Street is the voice of youth in Lower Manhattan, providing a unique musical environment for young musicians. Trinity offers music education and performance opportunities for girls and boys, ages 5-18. The program emphasizes the social aspect of making music, brings together collaborative neighborhood partners, and teaches the importance of building bridges within our community. It offers children the opportunity to be part of a serious music program that is:
- Devoted to disciplined music-making
- A community that fosters the formation of character and engaged citizenship
- Ethnically and culturally diverse
Music education at Trinity led by experienced, dedicated professionals. In addition to technique, students study sight reading, music theory, and history. In the process, children learn about teamwork, collaboration, community, the joy of music, and most importantly, themselves.
Diversity and Dedication
Our strength is in our diversity, in our love of music, and in our dedication to our young musicians. Although Trinity Wall Street provides an extensive religious education program for youth, this is not a religious program. Youth are welcomed from any or no faith tradition. Children meet after school for rehearsals and instruction once a week in small groups according to their ages.
Education and Outreach
Music and the Arts is dedicated to promoting lifelong engagement with music through a comprehensive program of educational opportunities, cultural activities, and free access to Trinity's acclaimed performances. Trinity carries out this vision through extensive educational youth programs and partnerships with underserved schools and communities throughout New York City. Through these efforts, Trinity provides free opportunities for all to experience music at the highest level of excellence.
