Messiah at Trinity

George Frideric Handel's Messiah and Trinity have a long history—Trinity presented one of the first performances of the work in North America in 1770, and the GRAMMY®-nominated Choir of Trinity Wall Street and Trinity Baroque Orchestra are still widely regarded as peerless interpreters of the work.

Year after year, Trinity's rendering of Messiah continues to garner critics' praise:

“one of the best performances of its kind to be found in the city” —WQXR

“...to experience the full, formidable range of ‘Messiah,’ from the furious flames of the ‘refiner's fire’ to the delirious party of the finale, next year let Trinity be your guide” —Zachary Woolfe, The New York Times

“Every holiday season, the options are bountiful when it comes to Handel's oratorio classic. Lucid, lithe and intense, the performances led by Julian Wachner and featuring the Trinity Baroque Orchestra and the Choir of Trinity Wall Street are particularly memorable.” The New York Times
