Brown Bag Lunch Ministry

Trinity distributes brown bag lunches seven days a week to those in need of emergency food assistance. Volunteers are always welcome, both to help distribute lunches each day, and to help pack the lunches twice weekly. To get involved, visit the Brown Bag Lunch webpage and submit your availability.

“One thing that has been troubling about our diverse urban congregation is the lack of authentic reconciliation between the have-a-littles and the have-a-lots… scripture describes a Kingdom comprised of diverse people with all manner of gifts and talents. Each citizen of this heaven-based Kingdom has been given important work to do. Those with the highest standing in heaven are the people who, in our earthly value system are the least important.” —Bob Lupton (Compassion, Justice and the Christian Life)

Trinity Cares

Trinity Cares is a chance to gather in small groups, catch up with old friends, meet some new ones, support each other, and feel connected while making cards that will later be sent to parishioners in need of a greeting. This group will meet at the Parish Center (2 Rector Street) on the first and third Mondays of each month. If you can attend, please RSVP to JoAnna Laskas at joannalaskas@mac.com

Help the Homeless: NYC311

The Department of Homeless Services (DHS) has developed a workflow that facilitates centralized tracking and dispatching of resources 24 hours a day.

The NYC311 app, which is free for both iOS and Android systems, connects New Yorkers with DHS and its street outreach providers to engage individuals who appear to be homeless or in need of services. You can also call 311 to discuss an individual who appears to be in need. Download the app on Android | iTunes
