11:15am Sermon, The Rev. Elizabeth Blunt: Anticipation Fuels Our Purpose and Passion

November 17, 2019

Reflecting on Jesus’ prophetic speech on the End of Days in today’s Gospel, the Rev. Beth Blunt focuses on anticipation as a way of faithful living; Christ teaches us that a life in expectation is not about safety, but about hope. “Wondering is good. Wondering means that we’ve kept the road map Jesus gave us close by, but what we can’t allow ourselves to be consumed by that wondering. We can’t be rendered immobile by fear... choose to persist, do not be afraid.”

The Scriptures are Isaiah 65:17-25; 2 Thessalonians 3:6-13; and Luke 21:5-19.
