11:15am Sermon, The Rev. Winnie Varghese: "Never Not Free: Embracing Our Unknown Future"

Like so many in the Bible, we are living with an unknowable future, hoping against hope that things will return to normal because it isn’t a new future we want, but the comfort of the past. “The kingdom of God is taking on a brand new shape in this time of unrest and despair,” preaches the Rev. Winnie Varghese, “change is inevitable; like a body after sickness, we will know new things and we will be scarred.” But, she reminds us, we are still forever invited to God’s abundant table, still forever invited to know and grow our freedom and our faith, even if it means letting go of all we thought we needed before. The readings include Exodus 32:1–14; Philippians 4:1–9; and Matthew 22:1–14.
