A Royal Recollection

Queen Elizabeth II visited Trinity in July 1976, to observe the bicentennial of U.S. independence, and to collect 279 years of back rent from the church, paid in peppercorns. Nancy Parks, whose late husband Dr. Robert Ray Parks, Trinity’s 15th rector hosted the royal visit, recalls many of the details of that day.
