Sunday Sermon, The Rev. Michael A. Bird: “A Love for All People”

In Sunday’s Scripture, everything changes. Jesus shares a new commandment: that we love one another, just as he loves us. Echoing all his actions and teachings, his words give us a way forward and make accessible a new reality. “God’s love will not be restricted to the former things, which have passed away,” preaches Father Michael Bird. “All things have been made new. All people are included. All possibilities are on the table.” Everything can be transformed by the love of God.

Sunday Sermon, The Rev. Phillip A. Jackson: “God’s Shocking Love”

It’s easy to see ourselves as the center of the story, to distance ourselves from others based on stereotypes, differences, and appearances. But when it comes to heaven, preaches Father Phil Jackson, we may be surprised by who’s included. We may even be shocked by the “great multitude” described in the Book of Revelation — people “from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages” embraced by God’s saving love.

Sunday Sermon, The Most Rev. Marinez Bassotto: “Signs of Jesus’s Love”

On the other side of his resurrection, Jesus gives us an important task: to be the church. “Our faith urges us to work in [Jesus’s] name, to seek his kingdom, and to be signs of his love and presence in the midst of this broken world,” preaches the Most Rev. Marinez Bassotto, presiding bishop of the Anglican Episcopal Church of Brazil. “May our lives be instruments to proclaim God’s action.”
